Narrative thangkas tell episodes from the life of Shakyamuni Buddha around a central image of the Buddha. In this photo the whole painting is visible: the Buddha sits at the centre in red robes with a blue nimbus and green halo, touching the earth, surrounded by disciples, dragons, clouds and small scenes in a landscape. It is mounted behind a cream mat in a gold frame. Size 45 × 71 cm.
