Yama, Lord of Death and a dharmapala (protector of the teachings), presides over the judgement of the dead and reminds practitioners of impermanence. This figure is shown in a dynamic wrathful stance with flaming hair painted red, a fierce face and raised arms holding attributes, on an oval lotus base. The surface appears to be gilt. Height 45 cm.
