A ghau is a Tibetan amulet box or portable shrine. The caption describes this example as a superior ghau with Vajrahara (presumably Vajradhara, the primordial Buddha) and Manjushri, bodhisattva of wisdom. The photo shows a wing-shaped case densely set with turquoise and coral-coloured stones, with applied figures, and a small pendant at the bottom. It measures 16 cm.
