The Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is the Buddha of healing, traditionally holding a bowl of medicine in the left hand and the myrobalan plant in the right, extended in the gesture of giving. In this example the Buddha wears a crown; the photo shows a figure with a reddish copper-coloured surface and silvered crown, seated on a lotus base with a sprig in the right hand. It measures 25 cm.
