Yamantaka, the "destroyer of death", is the wrathful form of the bodhisattva Manjushri and a principal meditational deity of the Gelug tradition. This antique figure in dark bronze shows the deity with a buffalo head, many arms and legs fanned out in a dense halo of attributes, standing on a lotus base. The dark patina emphasises the intricate openwork. The statue measures 30 cm.
